What are you currently doing?
I am the Set Designer for “Acquiesce” at Factory Theatre and Set and Costume Designer for “The Jungle Book” at Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
What did receiving the Virginia and Myrtle Cooper Award in Costume Design mean to you?
Receiving this award gave me a tremendous boost in my confidence as a designer and artist. It was incredibly gratifying to have been selected by such a fantastic jury of peers and to be rewarded in such a prestigious way for my participation and hard work in the theatre industry. I was very moved and am incredibly grateful for the support.
What does private arts philanthropy mean to you as a working artist?
Private arts philanthropy is invaluable. The lack of funding for the arts, in general, can be extremely difficult. With the help and support of private donors, the arts community in Canada can thrive. This is integral to the identity, creativity and ingenuity of this country and it’s various communities as a whole.
