Christina and Louis Quilico Awards
2013 Recipient
“Arts philanthropists are the salt of the earth! They see the big picture and understand how important the arts are for the growing culture of this country. These are exciting times in the Canadian arts scene and we are blessed to have some very committed patrons cheering it on.”
What are you currently doing?
I am currently performing at the COC as Dalinda in Ariodante. I will be making my Frankfurt Opera debut in December as The Queen of The Night in The Magic Flute – a role I will reprise at the COC in January and February, 2017. This Spring I will be singing the world premiere of Oksana G. with Tapestry Opera.
What did receiving the Christina and Louis Quilico Award mean to you?
Receiving the award was a nice boost in morale after many years of hard work and mixed feelings about continuing in this wildly competitive and unpredictable business.
What does private arts philanthropy mean to you as a working artist?
Arts philanthropists are the salt of the earth! They see the big picture and understand how important the arts are for the growing culture of this country. These are exciting times in the Canadian arts scene and we are blessed to have some very committed patrons cheering it on.
