What are you currently doing?
I am currently in Berlin, Germany. I am singing the role of Chrysothemis in Richard Strauss’ opera Elektra at the State Opera, conducted by Daniel Barenboim.

What did receiving the Paul deHueck and Norman Walford Career Achievement Award in Classical Singing mean to you?Â
I was deeply honoured and of course delighted to receive the Paul DeHueck and Norman Walford Career Achievement Award for Classical Singing in 2014. When I read the list of other recipients in various disciplines, I realized I was in very good company indeed. It felt wonderful to have my career recognized in this way.

Arts philanthropy is very important, now more than ever.  My career has spanned three decades and I feel strongly that the arts needs continued funding, both from the government and from philanthropists like Paul DeHueck and Norman Walford. I am very grateful for their generosity and vision.
