Jini Stolk Creative Fellowship

As the shepherds of successful organizations, arts managers are responsible for the administrative, financial, and overall health of the organization. They are passionate and committed to their work, but often have little opportunity for professional development. The Jini Stolk Creative Fellowship will support  arts managers of small to mid-sized Toronto arts organizations to encourage the development of the field of arts management, including organizational experimentation and effective governance through professional development, research, networking and sharing.

Prize:
$20,000
over 2 years ($10,000 each year)

“I’m deeply honoured to be the inaugural Jini Stolk Creative Fellow, and I hope to carry forward Jini’s inspiring legacy of research, collaboration, and advocacy. My research will focus on models of collaboration between small and medium BIPOC companies and large-scale presenters and performing art institutions – how can these organizations forge the deep trust and collective risk-taking required for successful collaboration.

My sincere thanks to the esteemed jury, Jane Marsland, Claire Hopkinson, and Michelle Yeung; Jini’s family, John, Sarah, and Kasia; the incredible team at Why Not Theatre and Karen Tisch for nominating and supporting me; and Sandra and Jim Pitblado, Tim and Frances Price, and all of the donors who’ve made this life-changing award possible for me and for all the fellows to come.”
