QUOTES
“Now into its fourth decade, this unique award program has given hundreds of Ontario students the opportunity to work collaboratively to choose the best new works of Canadian children’s literature. I’d like to congratulate all of this year’s shortlisted authors and illustrators, not to mention the students themselves – they always impress us with their excellent attitude and keen sense of responsibility.”
Peter Caldwell, Director and CEO at the Ontario Arts Council
“Awards, made possible through private philanthropy, provide artists with affirmation and recognition for their work. We are delighted that through the generosity of the Ruth Schwartz Foundation, these awards are able to encourage authors and illustrators on a personal and creative level – and help inspire young readers through a love of reading.”
Alan Walker, the Ontario Arts Foundation’s Executive Director
