Toronto, le 17 mai 2016 - La Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image<\/strong> et la Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario<\/strong> ont le plaisir d\u2019annoncer Janal Bechthold<\/strong> comme laur\u00e9ate du Prix Christopher Dedrick pour les musiciens dans les bandes sonores pour les medias<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

\"Picture<\/p>

Janal Bechthold est une compositrice de musique de film, pour la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, pour des jeux, et pour des medias interactifs. Elle a travaill\u00e9 sur de nombreuses bandes sonores y compris douze documentaires pour la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision (SRC-Radio Canada, TV5 International, Canal Vie) et des bandes dessin\u00e9es interactives telles que \u00ab The Shadowed Road \u00bb et \u00ab 80 Degrees North \u00bb. Janal joue de multiples instruments de musique et a un bagage musical diversifi\u00e9, incluant un dipl\u00f4me en th\u00e9rapie musicale de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Wilfrid-Laurier.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u00ab Je tiens \u00e0 remercier la Fondation des arts de l'Ontario, la Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image et le Fonds de dotation Chris Dedrick en musique de m\u2019honorer avec le Prix Christopher Dedrick pour les musiciens dans les bandes sonores pour les medias \u00bb, dit Janal Bechthold. \u00ab Quand Chris Dedrick \u00e9tait le Pr\u00e9sident, j\u2019\u00e9tais un nouveau membre de la SCGC. Sa musique et son d\u00e9vouement \u00e0 promouvoir l\u2019art de composer de la musique pour les m\u00e9dias de l'\u00e9cran \u00e9taient une source d'inspiration ! \u00bb<\/span><\/p>

\u00ab Les musiciens ont la capacit\u00e9 d'apporter une complexit\u00e9 \u00e9motionnelle \u00e0 leurs performances, ce que les simulations \u00e9lectroniques d\u00e9riv\u00e9es ne peuvent r\u00e9pliquer que de mani\u00e8re approximative. Je suis impatiente d'utiliser ce prix pour \u00e9lever la musique que je cr\u00e9e et d\u00e9montrer aux partenaires cr\u00e9atifs les avantages et la beaut\u00e9 de musiciens d\u2019inclure des musiciens sur des bandes sonores. \u00bb<\/p>

Le Prix Chirstopher Dedrick a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tabli en la m\u00e9moire de Christopher Dedrick<\/strong>, un compositeur de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image prim\u00e9 et ancien pr\u00e9sident de la Guilde, pour encourager et soutenir le recrutement et l'emploi des musiciens pour les bandes originales de media. Ce prix annuel d\u2019une valeur de 1 200 dollars<\/strong> est remis \u00e0 un membre professionnel de la Guilde en r\u00e8gle, et est adjug\u00e9 par un comit\u00e9 de s\u00e9lection compos\u00e9 de pairs de la Guilde. Le Prix est administr\u00e9 par la Guilde au nom de la Fondation des arts de l'Ontario.<\/p>

La Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image<\/a> (SCGC) est une association professionnelle accr\u00e9dit\u00e9e en vertu de la Loi f\u00e9d\u00e9rale canadienne sur le statut de l\u2019artiste, et repr\u00e9sente tous les compositeurs professionnels anglophones et les producteurs de musique pour le cin\u00e9ma, la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, les jeux vid\u00e9o, les portables et tous les autres m\u00e9dias \u00e0 l'\u00e9cran. La SCGC promeut le statut et les droits des compositeurs \u00e0 l'\u00e9cran au travers du d\u00e9veloppement professionnel, du partage d\u2019information, du plaidoyer sur des questions telles que les droits des cr\u00e9ateurs et de la valeur de la musique \u00e0 l'\u00e9cran. La SCGC est membre des Alliances canadienne et nord am\u00e9ricaine des cr\u00e9ateurs de musique.<\/p>

A propos de Christopher Dedrick<\/em><\/strong>\n
\nChristopher Dedrick \u00e9tait un producteur de musique, un arrangeur, et un compositeur classique et de bandes sonores. Il a travaill\u00e9 avec les directeurs Guy Maddin et Don McKellar, remportant un Prix G\u00e9nie pour \u00ab The Saddest Music in the World \u00bb de Guy Maddin. En 1997, Dedrick a remport\u00e9 un prix Gemini pour son travail sur la s\u00e9rie t\u00e9l\u00e9visuelle \u00ab Road to Avonlea \u00bb. Chris a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomin\u00e9 pour un total de seize fois pour des prix Gemini, en gagnant un total de quatre, les autres pour \u00ab Million Dollar Babies \u00bb, \u00ab Shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast \u00bb and \u00ab The Great Canadian Polar Bear Adventure \u00bb.<\/p>
