Toronto, le 16 mars 2015 \u2013 La fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario et la Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image<\/strong> ont le plaisir d\u2019annoncer le Prix Christopher Dedrick pour les musiciens dans les bandes sonores pour les medias<\/a> (Christopher Dedrick Award for Live Musicians in Media Soundtracks).<\/p>

Ce prix encourage et soutient l\u2019emploi et l'utilisation de musiciens dans la production de bandes sonores pour les medias, et par cela d\u00e9montrer leur valeur esth\u00e9tique dans les bandes sonores pour les medias non seulement aux compositeurs, mais aussi aux producteurs.<\/span><\/p>

Le prix est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 \u00e0 un membre professionnel en r\u00e8gle de la Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image. La Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image administre le processus de s\u00e9lection pour le prix au nom de la Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario.<\/span><\/p>

\u00ab La joie de travailler avec des musiciens \u00e9tait toujours proche du c\u0153ur de Chris \u00bb, dit Moira Dedrick<\/strong>, \u00e9pouse de Christopher Dedrick et fondatrice du Fonds Christopher Dedrick de musique. \u00ab Chris croyait que le son naturel de vrais instruments ajoutait \u00e9norm\u00e9ment au son et l'\u00e9motion de ses musiques de film et de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision. Ainsi, un Fonds pour encourager d'autres compositeurs \u00e0 utiliser des musiciens dans leurs bandes sonores \u00e0 l\u2019image semblait \u00eatre un choix naturel \u00bb.<\/p>

Marvin Dolgay<\/strong>, Pr\u00e9sident de la Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image dit: \u00ab Chris \u00e9tait passionn\u00e9 par l'\u00e9motion que les musiciens apportaient \u00e0 ses bandes sonores. La SCGC est honor\u00e9e d\u2019administrer ce fonds en partenariat avec la Fondation des arts de l'Ontario. Un bel hommage \u00e0 l'h\u00e9ritage de l'un des meilleurs d\u2019entre nous \u00bb.<\/p>

A propos de Christopher Dedrick<\/em><\/strong>\n
\nChristopher Dedrick \u00e9tait un producteur de musique, un arrangeur, et un compositeur classique et de bandes sonores. Il a travaill\u00e9 avec les directeurs Guy Maddin et Don McKellar, remportant un Prix G\u00e9nie pour \u00ab The Saddest Music in the World \u00bb de Guy Maddin. En 1997, Dedrick a remport\u00e9 un prix Gemini pour son travail sur la s\u00e9rie t\u00e9l\u00e9visuelle \u00ab Road to Avonlea \u00bb. Chris a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomin\u00e9 pour un total de seize fois pour des prix Gemini, en gagnant un total de quatre, les autres pour \u00ab Million Dollar Babies \u00bb, \u00ab Shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast \u00bb and \u00ab The Great Canadian Polar Bear Adventure \u00bb.<\/p>
