\nToronto, le 26 mai 2014 - La Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario<\/strong> et la Fondation Walter et Duncan Gordon<\/strong> ont le plaisir d\u2019annoncer le renouveau du Programme d\u2019art Elizabeth L. Gordon. Le Programme vise \u00e0 encourager une plus large appr\u00e9ciation des arts visuels et des artistes canadiens en soutenant les galeries d'art publiques et les mus\u00e9es de l'Ontario \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper leurs collections permanentes ; \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la connaissance du public sur le fait de collectionner ou \u00e0 propos de la collection permanente ; et \u00e0 soutenir l'engagement communautaire entre une galerie ou un mus\u00e9e et la communaut\u00e9 locale.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>Les subventions sont offertes par deux fili\u00e8res de financement :<\/span><\/p>

Subventions d'acquisition<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Les fonds recueillis par les galeries et les mus\u00e9es admissibles de la part de donateurs priv\u00e9s sont assortis en contrepartie pour l'acquisition d'\u0153uvres d'art canadiennes. Les subventions d'acquisition sont con\u00e7ues pour obtenir des fonds pour des acquisitions qui permettront aux galeries et mus\u00e9es d'approfondir leurs collections permanentes, et d'accro\u00eetre les dons d\u2019\u0153uvres d\u2019art par des personnes priv\u00e9es.
<\/span><\/p>

Subventions de d\u00e9veloppment<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Les subventions de d\u00e9veloppement soutiennent les initiatives qui augmentent la connaissance du public sur le fait de collectionner ou \u00e0 propos de la collection permanente d\u2019une galerie ou d\u2019un mus\u00e9e, qui aident \u00e0 rendre la collection permanente d\u2019une galerie ou d\u2019un mus\u00e9e plus accessible au public, qui aident la recherche en conservation, et qui construisent des relations plus solides avec les communaut\u00e9s locales et r\u00e9gionales.

\u00ab Nous sommes honor\u00e9s d\u2019\u00eatre charg\u00e9 de la prestation du Programme d\u2019art Elizabeth L. Gordon nouvellement r\u00e9tabli de la Fondation Walter et Duncan Gordon. Ce programme renforcera les collections permanentes des galeries d'art publiques et des mus\u00e9es de l'Ontario et favorisera la fiert\u00e9 et l'engagement \u00e0 travers l'\u00e9ducation et la participation communautaire, \u00bb a dit Alan Walker, Directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario<\/strong>.<\/p>

La Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario<\/strong><\/a>(FAO) travaille avec des m\u00e9c\u00e8nes pour renforcer le soutien \u00e0 long terme pour les arts en Ontario. \u00c9tablie \u00e0 titre de fondation publique en 1991, la Fondation administre plus de 300 fonds de dotation \u00e9tablis par des donneurs individuels, des fondations priv\u00e9es, des entreprises et des organismes artistiques. Elle verse plus de 2,8 millions de dollars par ann\u00e9e en soutien au secteur des arts en Ontario.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

La Fondation Walter et Duncan Gordon<\/strong><\/a> est une fondation philanthropique priv\u00e9e bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Toronto. La Fondation entreprend des recherches, du d\u00e9veloppement de leadership et du dialogue public afin que les politiques publiques au Canada refl\u00e8tent un engagement envers la g\u00e9rance collaborative de nos ressources en eau douce et \u00e0 un Nord qui soit bas\u00e9 sur les gens, \u00e9quitable et \u00e9volutif. Au cours du dernier quart de si\u00e8cle, la Fondation Gordon a investi plus de 27 millions de dollars dans un large \u00e9ventail d'initiatives des collectivit\u00e9s du Nord et de protection de l'eau douce.<\/p>

\u00c0 propos de Elizabeth L. Gordon<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Elizabeth L. Gordon<\/a>, une des fondatrices de la Fondation Walter et Duncan Gordon, s\u2019est toujours int\u00e9ress\u00e9e \u00e0 l'art, l'histoire et la culture. Pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement b\u00e9n\u00e9vole \u00e0 l'Art Gallery of Toronto (maintenant l'Art Gallery of Ontario), en prenant un grand int\u00e9r\u00eat dans l\u2019encouragement \u00e0 accroitre le nombre de membres de la galerie. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la Fondation Walter et Duncan Gordon, Elizabeth Gordon a encourag\u00e9 des galeries d'art et des mus\u00e9es \u00e9mergents de l'Ontario en offrant des subventions pour leur permettre d'acqu\u00e9rir des \u0153uvres d'art originales. Pour lui rendre hommage, la Fondation a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le Programme d\u2019art Gordon L.
