Toronto \u2013 le 10 mars 2014 \u2013 Le comit\u00e9 du Prix Gina Wilkinson<\/strong> a le plaisir d\u2019annoncer que la troisi\u00e8me laur\u00e9ate du Prix annuel pour 2014 est Christine Brubaker<\/strong> de Toronto, Ontario. Cette annonce a eu lieu le 10 mars, qui aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 le jour de l\u2019anniversaire de Gina. Mme Brubaker a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisie parmi une liste de 22 nomin\u00e9es venant de partout au Canada.<\/p>

\"Christine<\/p>

\u00ab Dire que je suis honor\u00e9e semble trop facile quelque part, mais honor\u00e9e je le suis : honor\u00e9e d\u2019\u00eatre en compagnie de Charlotte, Liz et Dayna, et honor\u00e9e de recevoir un prix inspir\u00e9 par l\u2019indomptable Gina Wilkinson. En tant qu\u2019actrice chevronn\u00e9e, mais toute nouvelle metteur en sc\u00e8ne, cette affirmation est inestimable. Elle soutient de mani\u00e8re tangible un acte risqu\u00e9, un acte de processus, de changement et de transformation : pas seulement sur ce que j\u2019ai accompli, mais sur ce que j\u2019esp\u00e8re accomplir \u00bb, a dit Mme Brubaker en apprenant qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait la laur\u00e9ate pour cette ann\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>

<\/span><\/p>

Christine Brubaker a travaill\u00e9 comme un artiste de th\u00e9\u00e2tre depuis vingt ans. Principalement une actrice, elle s'est produite \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle nationale et internationale en travaillant dans de petits et grands th\u00e9\u00e2tres. Elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 mettre en sc\u00e8ne il ya trois ans quand un ami et coll\u00e8gue, Eric Woolfe du Eldritch Theatre, l\u2019a embauch\u00e9e pour diriger son spectacle de marionnettes \u00ab Madhouse Variations \u00bb. Originaire de Guelph, en Ontario, Christine a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le th\u00e9\u00e2tre et administration des arts \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 de Waterloo, et a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 suivre une formation d'actrice \u00e0 l'\u00c9cole nationale de th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Canada. Actuellement, elle poursuit sa ma\u00eetrise (MFA) en arts interdisciplinaires au Goddard College, au Vermont. Ce printemps, elle fait partie de l'atelier Michael Langham pour la direction classique au Festival de Stratford. Christine est une enseignante, musicienne et professeur de th\u00e9\u00e2tre au Young People\u2019s Theatre et au Coll\u00e8ge Sheridan.<\/p>

Le Prix Gina Wilkinson honore une femme metteur en sc\u00e8ne de th\u00e9\u00e2tre qui effectue une transition d\u2019une discipline th\u00e9\u00e2trale (actrice, sc\u00e9nographe, dramaturge, administration, etc.) vers la mise en sc\u00e8ne. Le Prix rend hommage \u00e0 l\u2019actrice, dramaturge, metteur en sc\u00e8ne Gina Wilkinson dont le d\u00e9vouement, la vision et l\u2019esprit indomptable ont impr\u00e9gn\u00e9 sa vie et son travail. Une actrice pour plus de vingt ans, Mme Wilkinson a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 tourner son attention vers l'\u00e9criture et la mise en sc\u00e8ne et, dans les derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es de sa trop courte vie, elle s'est \u00e9tablie comme une collaboratrice et metteur en sc\u00e8ne pleine d\u2019audace, forte et inventive dans le milieu du th\u00e9\u00e2tre canadien. Dans l\u2019esprit de l\u2019app\u00e9tit pour la vie de Mme Wilkinson, ce Prix de 2 000 dollars<\/strong> est un cadeau que la laur\u00e9ate peut utiliser de la mani\u00e8re qu\u2019elle le souhaite. Les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes laur\u00e9ates du Prix sont Ann-Marie Kerr<\/strong> de Halifax et Krista Jackson<\/strong> de Winnipeg.<\/p>
