Toronto - Le 19 juin 2012 \u2013 La cr\u00e9atrice de costumes et de d\u00e9cors, Dana Osborne<\/strong> est la laur\u00e9ate du Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes<\/strong> d\u2019un montant de 15 000 dollars, pour l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2012. Ce prix est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 tous les ans \u00e0 une costumi\u00e8re ou \u00e0 un costumier professionnel canadien qui travaille en Ontario et qui en est au milieu de sa carri\u00e8re; afin d\u2019enrichir davantage sa carri\u00e8re par le biais de recherches et de voyages.<\/p>

Dana Osborne a travaill\u00e9 comme cr\u00e9atrice de costumes et de d\u00e9cors \u00e0 travers le Canada depuis 15 ans. Cette ann\u00e9e est la douzi\u00e8me saison de Dana au Stratford Shakespearean Festival<\/a> pour lequel elle est la cr\u00e9atrice pour \u00ab You\u2019re a Good Man, Charlie Brown \u00bb et \u00ab Wanderlust \u00bb. Son travail \u00e0 Stratford incluent les costumes pour \u00ab Hosanna \u00bb, \u00ab As You Like It \u00bb, \u00ab A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum \u00bb, \u00ab Moby Dick \u00bb, \u00ab The Comedy of Errors \u00bb, \u00ab The Lark \u00bb, \u00ab Cat on a Hot Tin Roof \u00bb, \u00ab Timon of Athens \u00bb, \u00ab Agamemnon \u00bb ainsi que le d\u00e9cor et les costumes pour la premi\u00e8re partie de \u00ab King Henry IV \u00bb.<\/p>

Parmi les autres cr\u00e9ations de Dana, soulignons la prochaine production de \u00ab Macbeth \u00bb pour le Pacific Opera<\/a> et de \u00ab Speed the Plow \u00bb pour Soulpepper Theatre Company<\/a> ainsi que des cr\u00e9ations pour de nombreuses compagnies de th\u00e9\u00e2tre, y compris Globe Theatre<\/a> (Regina), Grand Theatre<\/a> (London), Canadian Stage<\/a>, Theatrefront<\/a>, Young People\u2019s Theatre<\/a>, Pleiades Theatre<\/a>, et Factory Theatre<\/a> (Toronto).<\/p>

Dana a un baccalaur\u00e9at en beaux-arts avec honneurs en cr\u00e9ation pour le th\u00e9\u00e2tre de York University. Elle a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re dans la gestion de costumes, travaillant pour la Canadian Opera Company<\/a>, le Shaw Festival<\/a> et Mirvish Productions<\/a> avant de choisir la cr\u00e9ation. En 2004, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e l\u2019une des jeunes cr\u00e9atrices \u00e0 surveiller par le magazine \u00ab Entertainment Design \u00bb. Dana a re\u00e7u le Prix Dora Mavor Moore pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes remarquable en 2010 pour \u00ab TheMill \u00bb (Theatrefront).\n

\nDana Osborne a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e parmi un ensemble de nomin\u00e9s remarquable. Le jury de cette ann\u00e9e compos\u00e9 de professionnels du th\u00e9\u00e2tre Bonnie Deakin (Stratford), Ken MacDonald (Toronto), et Kim Renders (Kingston) a \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 par les interpr\u00e9tations fortes et cr\u00e9atives de Dana, notant qu\u2019 \u00ab elle est une cr\u00e9atrice moderne pour le th\u00e9\u00e2tre d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui. Elle utilise son sens aiguis\u00e9 de la mode d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui en la m\u00e9langeant astucieusement avec des apparences historiques afin de donner \u00e0 ses spectacles une cr\u00e9ation unique. Le Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un don g\u00e9n\u00e9reux que Virginia S. Cooper, de Toronto, a l\u00e9gu\u00e9 par testament. Ce prix doit \u00eatre attribu\u00e9 \u00ab pour l\u2019amour de la cr\u00e9ation \u00bb. Dr Cooper a \u00e9t\u00e9 directrice du th\u00e9\u00e2tre Tarragon et elle \u00e9tait membre fondatrice du Arts and Letters Club de Toronto, auquel elle participait activement. Elle s\u2019int\u00e9ressait vivement aux arts de la sc\u00e8ne, en particulier \u00e0 la conception des costumes.<\/span><\/p>
