Ce prix, qui s'accompagne d'une r\u00e9compense de <strong>15 000 dollars<\/strong>, est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 tous les ans \u00e0 une costumi\u00cbre ou \u00e0 un costumier professionnel canadien qui travaille en Ontario et qui en est au milieu de sa carri\u00cbre; il permet \u00e0 cette personne d'enrichir davantage sa carri\u00cbre par le biais de recherches et de voyages.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>M. Gianfrancesco a cr\u00e9\u00e9 des costumes qu'on a port\u00e9s dans des th\u00e9\u201atres situ\u00e9s \u00e0 travers le pays. Embauch\u00e9 par le Festival Shakespeare de Stratford ces sept derni\u00cbres ann\u00e9es, il a r\u00e9cemment con\u00c1u les sc\u00cbnes et les costumes des pi\u00cbces\u00a0<em>Much Ado About Nothing<\/em>\u00a0et le\u00a0<em>The Blonde, The Brunette &amp; The Vengeful Redhead<\/em>. On a pu aussi voir de ses sc\u00cbnes et de ses costumes dans\u00a0<em>The Midnight Court<\/em>au Queen of Puddings Music Theatre, dont la premi\u00cbre s'est tenue au Harbourfront Centre, pi\u00cbce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e au th\u00e9\u201atre Linbury de la Royal Opera House, dans le secteur Covent Garden, en 2006.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Cette derni\u00cbre ann\u00e9e, les conceptions de M. Gianfrancesco ont figur\u00e9 dans les pi\u00cbces\u00a0<em>The Wizard of Oz,<\/em>\u00a0au Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People,\u00a0<em>Fiddler on the Roof,<\/em>\u00a0au Manitoba Theatre Centre, et\u00a0<em>The Miracle Worker,<\/em>\u00a0au Neptune Theatre de Halifax. M. Gianfrancesco a remport\u00e9 le prix Tyrone Guthrie et le prix Brian Jackson du Festival Shakespeare de Stratford.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p align=\"left\" class=\"translation-block\">Le <strong>Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes<\/strong> a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 gr\u201ace \u00e0 un don g\u00e9n\u00e9reux que <strong>Virginia S. Cooper<\/strong>, de Toronto, a l\u00e9gu\u00e9 par testament. Ce prix doit \u00cdtre attribu\u00e9 \u00b4 pour l'amour de la cr\u00e9ation \u00aa. \n<br><br>\nM<sup>me<\/sup> Cooper a \u00e9t\u00e9 directrice du th\u00e9\u201atre Tarragon et elle \u00e9tait membre fondatrice du Arts and Letters Club de Toronto, auquel elle participait activement. Elle s'int\u00e9ressait vivement aux arts de la sc\u00cbne, en particulier \u00e0 la conception des costumes; elle \u00e9tait en train d'\u00e9crire un livre intitul\u00e9 <u>Pins and Needles<\/u>, lequel mettait en vedette certaines des robes que sa m\u00cbre, Myrtle Cooper, avait con\u00c1ues et fabriqu\u00e9es pour elle.<\/p><p align=\"left\" class=\"translation-block\">La <strong>Fondation des arts de l'Ontario<\/strong> g\u00cbre le fonds de dotation qui finance le Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper. Un jury compos\u00e9 de <strong>Astrid Janson<\/strong>, conceptrice, <strong>Jo\u00cel Beddows<\/strong>, directeur artistique, et <strong>Sue LePage<\/strong>, conceptrice, a choisi <strong>M.
