Toronto, le 5 mai 2021 \u2013 La cr\u00e9atrice de costumes, Ming Wong<\/a> est la laur\u00e9ate 2021 du Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes<\/strong> d\u2019un montant de 25 000 dollars. Ce prix est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 tous les ans \u00e0 une costumi\u00e8re ou \u00e0 un costumier professionnel qui travaille en Ontario et qui est en milieu de sa carri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

\"Ming<\/p>\n

A propos de Ming Wong<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ming est une cr\u00e9atrice de costumes de Toronto; elle a travaill\u00e9 sur une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de projets dans les domaines du th\u00e9\u00e2tre, de la danse, de l'op\u00e9ra, du cin\u00e9ma et de la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision. Elle est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e du programme de m\u00e9dias int\u00e9gr\u00e9s de l'Ontario College of Art & Design, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomin\u00e9e pour le prix Evie et cinq fois en nomination pour les prix Dora Mavor Moore. Ming s'est lanc\u00e9e dans la conception de costumes par accident et a eu la chance de faire de cet heureux accident sa passion et son gagne-pain pendant depuis plus de 15 ans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Le jury de cette ann\u00e9e \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 d'Alan Dilworth<\/strong>, directeur artistique du Necessary Angel Theatre Company (Toronto), de Rachel Forbes<\/strong>, cr\u00e9atrice \u00e9mergente de costumes (Toronto), et de Camellia Koo<\/strong>, cr\u00e9atrice de costumes \u00e9tablie et laur\u00e9ate pour 2016 du prix (Toronto).<\/p>\n

Le jury a \u00e9t\u00e9 unanime dans son choix de Ming Wong comme laur\u00e9at 2021, d\u00e9clarant : \u00ab Les cr\u00e9ations de Ming sont audacieuses, innovantes et inspirantes. Le processus de collaboration est au centre de son travail de cr\u00e9ation. A propos le prix<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Le Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes, cr\u00e9\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un don g\u00e9n\u00e9reux dans le testament de la Dr Virginia Cooper, est attribu\u00e9 \u00ab pour l\u2019amour de la cr\u00e9ation \u00bb. Dr Cooper a \u00e9t\u00e9 directrice du th\u00e9\u00e2tre Tarragon et elle \u00e9tait membre fondatrice du Arts and Letters Club de Toronto, auquel elle participait activement. Elle s\u2019int\u00e9ressait vivement aux arts de la sc\u00e8ne, en particulier \u00e0 la conception des costumes.<\/p>\n
