Toronto, le 7 d\u00e9cembre 2020 - Parisa Sabet<\/a> est la laur\u00e9ate du Prix Kathleen McMorrow de musique<\/strong> d'un montant de 7 000 dollars<\/strong>. Le prix reconna\u00eet la composition et la pr\u00e9sentation de musique classique contemporaine par des compositeurs ontariens. Ce prix soutient le nouvel op\u00e9ra de Sabet en collaboration avec Nika Khanjani \u00ab Vanishing Point \u00bb, commissionn\u00e9 par le Prix M\u00e9c\u00e9nat Musica Prix 3 Femmes.<\/p>\n

\"Parisa<\/p>\n

A propos Parisa Sabet<\/strong>
\nLa compositrice prim\u00e9e Parisa Sabet \u00e9crit de la musique commissionn\u00e9e et jou\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle internationale. Son langage musical distinctif d\u00e9coule de ses racines iraniennes, de son \u00e9ducation occidentale et de sa passion pour les arts socialement engag\u00e9s. Entrem\u00ealant des sons \u00e0 la fois reconnaissables et nouveaux, ses compositions \u00e9voquent des \u00e9motions, \u00e9voquent des images et racontent des histoires, souvent sur des probl\u00e8mes sociaux urgents.<\/p>\n

Les r\u00e9centes premi\u00e8res de ses \u0153uvres ont eu lieu dans sa ville d'adoption Toronto ainsi qu'\u00e0 Seattle, Sydney et Chicago. En 2019, sa production \u00ab The Dawn Initiative \u00bb a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 des premi\u00e8res internationales de musique compos\u00e9e par une gamme internationale de compositeurs, y compris Sabet, qui ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 des \u0153uvres inspirant l'unit\u00e9 sociale. Pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment, en tant que co-directrice artistique de l'Initiative musicale isra\u00e9lo-iranienne, elle a produit des concerts de nouvelle musique pr\u00e9sentant ses propres compositions ainsi que celles de deux compositeurs isra\u00e9liens.<\/p>\n

Elle a obtenu son baccalaur\u00e9at en musique avec distinction \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 Roosevelt de Chicago.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A propos le Prix Kathleen McMorrow de musique<\/strong>
\nLe Prix Kathleen McMorrow de musique<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2015. Kathleen McMorrow<\/strong> a dirig\u00e9 la biblioth\u00e8que musicale de la facult\u00e9 de musique de l'Universit\u00e9 de Toronto de 1974 \u00e0 2013. Elle a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le prix pour reconna\u00eetre et encourager la composition et la pr\u00e9sentation de la musique classique contemporaine canadienne.<\/p>\n

La Fondation des arts de l'Ontario g\u00e8re le fonds de dotation qui finance le prix. Le Conseil des arts de l'Ontario est responsable du processus de nomination et d'adjudication. Le laur\u00e9at du prix est s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 parmi les candidats retenus pour le programme Musique \u2013 projets de cr\u00e9ation du Conseil des arts de l\u2019Ontario.<\/p>\n
