Le Prix pour l'ann\u00e9e 2020 reconna\u00eet les r\u00e9alisations exceptionnelles dans le domaine de la photographie d'art. Le Prix d'une valeur de 30 000 dollars sera pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 Niro le 5 mars<\/strong> \u00e0 la galerie d'art Robert Langen Art Gallery<\/strong> \u00e0 laquelle elle donnera une conf\u00e9rence sur son exposition \u00ab Something Cold and Hard Like Winter<\/a> \u00bb.<\/p>

A propos Shelley Niro<\/strong><\/p>

Shelley Niro est une artiste multidisciplinaire et membre de la r\u00e9serve des Six Nations, du clan de la Tortue, Mohawk de la Baie de Quinte. Elle a travaill\u00e9 dans une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de m\u00e9dias, y compris le perlage, la peinture, la photographie et le cin\u00e9ma. L'art de Niro a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans de nombreuses expositions et mus\u00e9es \u00e0 travers le Canada et les \u00c9tats-Unis, y compris le National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI). Ses r\u00e9alisations artistiques lui ont \u00e9galement valu des bourses et des r\u00e9sidences dans de grandes institutions \u00e9ducatives et culturelles.<\/span><\/p>

Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re laur\u00e9ate du Prix des arts autochtones d\u00e9cern\u00e9 par le Conseil des arts de l'Ontario en 2012. \nLe jury a salu\u00e9 le travail de Niro et ses contributions importantes \u00e0 la photographie au Canada et ailleurs. \u00ab Tout au long de sa longue carri\u00e8re, Niro s'est constamment pouss\u00e9e vers l'avant, utilisant sa photographie pour regarder sa vie in\u00e9branlablement. Son travail inspirant raconte ce qu'est le Canada et d\u00e9fie les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes avec une franchise sans vergogne. Gr\u00e2ce au mentorat, \u00e0 l'enseignement et au leadership, elle a encourag\u00e9 les artistes de tous \u00e2ges et, ce faisant, transmet un h\u00e9ritage. \u00bb<\/p>
