Toronto, 10 decembre 2018 - Glenys Marshall<\/strong> est la laur\u00e9ate 2018 du Prix d\u2019encouragement Tim Sims<\/strong> de 2 500 $. Le Prix d\u2019encouragement Tim Sims<\/strong> honore un ou une artiste comique prometteurs en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re. Glenys Marshall<\/strong> a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e pour le prix par le programme \u00ab Comedy: Writing and Performance \u00bb du corps professoral du Humber College et a re\u00e7u le prix aujourd'hui lors du spectacle solo du programme Humber Comedy.<\/p>\n

\"Glenys<\/p>\n

Ayant grandi \u00e0 Ottawa, Glenys Marshall a \u00e9t\u00e9 immerg\u00e9e dans le th\u00e9\u00e2tre \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge de 6 ans. Apr\u00e8s avoir jou\u00e9 le r\u00f4le de l'\u00e2ne dans \u00ab Shrek the Musical \u00bb lors de sa derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e d'\u00e9tudes secondaires, elle s'est rendu compte que la com\u00e9die \u00e9tait son milieu. Au cours de ses \u00e9tudes \u00e0 Humber, Glenys a effectu\u00e9 un \u00e9change \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 Salford de Manchester en Angleterre, et a rencontr\u00e9 les amis avec qui elle a jou\u00e9 au Edinburgh Fringe cet \u00e9t\u00e9. Apr\u00e8s avoir officiellement d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 \u00e0 Toronto cette ann\u00e9e, Glenys est devenue membre du conservatoire Second City, une com\u00e9dienne de stand-up r\u00e9guli\u00e8re \u00e0 travers la ville, et un membre actif de Bad Dog Comedy theatre et des Canadian Improv Games. Elle esp\u00e8re cr\u00e9er une troupe de sketches et se remettre \u00e0 jouer dans des com\u00e9dies musicales.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Je suis extr\u00eamement honor\u00e9e et reconnaissante de remporter ce prix \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Glenys. \u00ab Je sais combien de candidats incroyables ont obtenu leur dipl\u00f4me avec moi. J'ai grandi en regardant le spectacle Red Green avec mes parents et je partage absolument cette victoire avec eux. Tim Sims \u00e9tait une personne aimable et d\u00e9vou\u00e9e et un excellent mod\u00e8le \u00e0 suivre. Un grand merci au Coll\u00e8ge Humber et \u00e0 la Fondation des arts de l'Ontario pour leur foi dans les r\u00eaves d'un jeune \u00e2ne! \u00bb<\/p>\n

Prix d'encouragement Tim Sims<\/strong>
\nLe Fonds d\u2019encouragement Tim Sims<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Lindsay Leese<\/strong> et \u00e9tabli en 1995 pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer l\u2019esprit et la m\u00e9moire de Tim Sims<\/strong>, un artiste comique, \u00e9crivain, directeur et collecteurs de fonds caritatifs reconnu de Toronto. Entre 1996 et 2014, le Fonds a attribu\u00e9 des montants de prix pour un total de 65 000 $ \u00e0 de jeunes artistes comiques en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re lors du spectacle annuel \u00ab Cream of Comedy \u00bb \u00e0 Second City. A partir de 2015, le Prix sera attribu\u00e9 chaque ann\u00e9e \u00e0 un dipl\u00f4mant du programme \u00ab Comedy Writing and Performance \u00bb \u00e0 Humber College et \u00e0 un dipl\u00f4mant du programme de conservatoire au sein du \u00ab Second City Training Program \u00bb.\n
