Toronto, le 16 avril 2018 \u2013 Les laur\u00e9ats et laur\u00e9ates des prix K.M. Hunter aux artistes 2018<\/strong> ont \u00e9t\u00e9 annonc\u00e9s aujourd'hui. Les six laur\u00e9ats et laur\u00e9ates seront honor\u00e9s par la K.M. Hunter Charitable Foundation<\/a> lors d'une r\u00e9ception \u00e0 l'h\u00f4tel Gladstone au cours du mois de juin.<\/p>\n

Un prix de 8 000 $ a \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9 dans chacune des six disciplines artistiques \u00e0 :<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Ces prix annuels sont d\u00e9cern\u00e9s \u00e0 des r\u00e9sidents de l\u2019Ontario afin de soutenir des artistes professionnels en milieu de carri\u00e8re qui ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper une \u0153uvre, \u00e0 avoir un bon niveau d\u2019exposition au public et un impact sur leur discipline, et qui manifeste une voix artistique originale au sein de leur tradition artistique. Les prix visent \u00e0 les encourager dans leur voie et \u00e0 les propulser \u00e0 un autre niveau.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous sommes tr\u00e8s impressionn\u00e9s par le calibre des artistes que nos r\u00e9compenses attirent et souhaitons \u00e0 tous les laur\u00e9ats et laur\u00e9ates de cette ann\u00e9e un grand succ\u00e8s dans la poursuite de leur travail \u00bb, explique Sarah Hunter, pr\u00e9sidente de la fondation K.M. Hunter Charitable Foundation<\/strong>. \u00ab Nous tenons \u00e9galement \u00e0 remercier Dave Carley<\/strong>, Damiano Pietropaolo<\/strong>, et Bernard Leroux<\/strong> pour avoir pr\u00e9sid\u00e9s \u00e0 nos jurys cette ann\u00e9e. Nous accueillons les laur\u00e9ats de cette ann\u00e9e dans la famille grandissante d'artistes qui ont re\u00e7u le prix K.M. Hunter aux artistes.\u00bb<\/p>\n

Depuis la cr\u00e9ation des prix en 1995, 139 artistes<\/strong> ont re\u00e7u des prix totalisant un montant de 940 500 $<\/strong>.

\nLe Bureau des prix du CAO<\/strong> administre le processus de s\u00e9lection des prix K.M. Hunter aux artistes. Les jurys du CAO recommandent des candidats au sein des programmes de subventions de projet qui acceptent les demandes d\u2019artistes professionnels dans chacune des cat\u00e9gories des Prix. La K.M. Hunter Charitable Foundation<\/strong> convoque un jury de six membres afin de choisir les laur\u00e9ats des prix. Les prix sont financ\u00e9s par un don de la K.M. Hunter Charitable Foundation \u00e0 la Fondation des arts de l'Ontario<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Depuis plus de cinquante ans, le Consil des arts de l\u2019Ontario<\/a> (CAO) joue un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la promotion et l'aide au d\u00e9veloppement des arts pour le profit de tous les Ontariens et Ontariennes. En 2016-2017, le CAO a financ\u00e9 1 657 artistes et 1 098 organisations dans 212 collectivit\u00e9s de l'Ontario, pour un total de 50,8 millions de dollars.<\/p>\n

\u00c9tablie en 1991, la Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario<\/a> (FAO) est passionn\u00e9ment engag\u00e9e \u00e0 construire un soutien \u00e0 long terme pour les arts en Ontario. En 2016-2017, la FAO a vers\u00e9 plus de 3,2 millions de dollars en revenus de dotation et 375 000 dollars en prix et bourses.<\/p>\n
