Toronto, le 24 mai 2017 - La Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image<\/strong> et la Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario<\/strong> ont le plaisir d\u2019annoncer Matthew Van Driel<\/strong> comme laur\u00e9at du Prix Christopher Dedrick pour les musiciens dans les bandes sonores pour les medias<\/a>.<\/p>

\"Matthew<\/p>

Matthew Van Driel est un compositeur, orchestreur, arrangeur et chef d'orchestre canadien. En tant que compositeur de musique de film, il a \u00e9crit des partitions pour de nombreux courts m\u00e9trages pour des pays \u00e0 travers le monde, y compris la Canada, les Etats-Unis d\u2019Am\u00e9rique, le Vietnam et l\u2019Inde. Il a aussi compos\u00e9 et arrang\u00e9 de la musique de chambre et des oeuvres de concert qui ont a \u00e9t\u00e9 jou\u00e9es en premi\u00e8re au Canada et \u00e0 Hong Kong.<\/span><\/p>

\u00ab En tant que compositeur \u00e9mergent, l'utilisation de musiciens dans une session de musique pour les media peut sembler un r\u00eave \u00e9loign\u00e9 \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Matthew Van Driel<\/strong>. \u00ab Comme le laur\u00e9at du Prix Christopher Dedrick cette ann\u00e9e, je suis extr\u00eamement enthousiaste d'avoir l'opportunit\u00e9 de le faire. Je remercie la Guilde des compositeurs canadiens de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image d'avoir rendu ce prix possible. Je ne pourrais \u00eatre plus excit\u00e9 de pouvoir le faire dans l'une de mes futures partitions. J'essaie toujours d'accentuer la vision du r\u00e9alisateur au mieux de mes capacit\u00e9s, et gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce fonds, je sais que je le ferai. \u00bb<\/p>

Le Prix Chirstopher Dedrick a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tabli en la m\u00e9moire de Christopher Dedrick<\/strong>, un compositeur de musique \u00e0 l\u2019image prim\u00e9 et ancien pr\u00e9sident de la Guilde, pour encourager et soutenir le recrutement et l'emploi des musiciens pour les bandes originales de media. Ce prix annuel d\u2019une valeur de 1 200 dollars<\/strong> est remis \u00e0 un membre professionnel de la Guilde en r\u00e8gle, et est adjug\u00e9 par un comit\u00e9 de s\u00e9lection compos\u00e9 de pairs de la Guilde. Le Prix est administr\u00e9 par la Guilde au nom de la Fondation des arts de l'Ontario.<\/p>

A propos de Christopher Dedrick<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Christopher Dedrick \u00e9tait un producteur de musique, un arrangeur, et un compositeur classique et de bandes sonores. Il a travaill\u00e9 avec les directeurs Guy Maddin et Don McKellar, remportant un Prix G\u00e9nie pour \u00ab The Saddest Music in the World \u00bb de Guy Maddin. En 1997, Dedrick a remport\u00e9 un prix Gemini pour son travail sur la s\u00e9rie t\u00e9l\u00e9visuelle \u00ab Road to Avonlea \u00bb. Chris a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomin\u00e9 pour un total de seize fois pour des prix Gemini, en gagnant un total de quatre, les autres pour \u00ab Million Dollar Babies \u00bb, \u00ab Shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast \u00bb and \u00ab The Great Canadian Polar Bear Adventure \u00bb.<\/p>
