Toronto, le 15 juin 2025 \u2013 La Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario est heureuse d'annoncer que Verne Bird<\/strong> est la laur\u00e9ate 2025 du Prix d\u2019encouragement Tim Sims<\/a>. Le Prix d\u2019encouragement Tim Sims honore un ou une artiste comique prometteur en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re. Verne Bird a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisie pour le Prix par la facult\u00e9 du programme \u00ab Comedy Writing and Performance \u00bb de Humber College.

A propos de Verne Bird<\/strong>
\"\"Verne (iel\/elle) est une auteure-interpr\u00e8te de com\u00e9die. Iel ont r\u00e9cemment termin\u00e9 leur \u00e9tudes dans le programme Comedy Writing and Performance du Coll\u00e8ge Humber. On peut voir Verne \u00e0 travers la ville, se produisant dans des salles comme Tallboys<\/a>, Comedy Bar Danforth<\/a> et le The Comedy Lab<\/a>, pour du stand-up, des sketches et de l\u2019improvisation. Diplom\u00e9 du programme de theatre de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 York, iel cr\u00e9e des performances en direct depuis plus de sept ans. Parmi ses cr\u00e9ations r\u00e9centes en solo, on compte des spectacles burlesques de clown, \u00ab Lady Dolce \u00bb et \u00ab Brenda\u2019s Big Number \u00bb. Iel est \u00e9galement membre du groupe local de sketches comiques Shrimp Mocktail<\/a>. Ancr\u00e9 dans la queerness, le travail de Verne s'attache \u00e0 trouver l'absurde et l'humour dans le banal.<\/p>

A propos le prix<\/strong>
Le Fonds d\u2019encouragement Tim Sims a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Lindsay Leese et \u00e9tabli en 1995 pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer l\u2019esprit et la m\u00e9moire de Tim Sims, un humoriste, \u00e9crivain, directeur et collecteurs de fonds caritatifs reconnu de Toronto. Entre 1996 et 2014, le Fonds a attribu\u00e9 des montants de prix pour un total de 65 000 $ \u00e0 de jeunes humoristes en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re lors du spectacle annuel \u00ab Cream of Comedy \u00bb \u00e0 Second City. Depuis 2015, le Prix est attribu\u00e9 chaque ann\u00e9e \u00e0 un dipl\u00f4mant du programme \u00ab Comedy Writing and Performance \u00bb \u00e0 Humber College et jusqu'\u00e0 2019 \u00e0 un dipl\u00f4mant du programme de conservatoire au sein du \u00ab Second City Training Program \u00bb.<\/p>
