Toronto, le 11 juillet 2023 \u2013 La costumi\u00e8re bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Ottawa Vanessa Imeson<\/strong> est la laur\u00e9ate 2023 du Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes<\/strong>, de 25 000 dollars. Ce prix est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 tous les ans \u00e0 une costumi\u00e8re ou \u00e0 un costumier professionnel qui travaille en Ontario et qui est en milieu de sa carri\u00e8re; afin d\u2019enrichir davantage sa carri\u00e8re par le biais de recherches et de voyages.<\/p>

A propos de Vanessa Imeson<\/strong>
Vanessa Imeson<\/a>\"\"<\/a> est une artiste de th\u00e9\u00e2tre et une cr\u00e9atrice prim\u00e9e sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans les costumes, le maquillage et les accessoires. Elle con\u00e7oit des costumes, des maquillages, des perruques, et des marionnettes pour de nombreux programmes coll\u00e9giaux et compagnies de th\u00e9\u00e2tre professionnelles au travers du Canada. Vanessa est chef de la Garde-robe pour la Great Canadian Theatre Company<\/a>, et elle est \u00e9galement artiste principale et designer r\u00e9sidente avec A Company of Fools<\/a> et le Skeleton Key Theatre<\/a>.<\/p>

Vanessa est titulaire d'un baccalaur\u00e9at combin\u00e9 sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 en art dramatique et en anglais de l'Universit\u00e9 de Windsor, d'une ma\u00eetrise en conception de th\u00e9\u00e2tre de l'Universit\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique et d'un dipl\u00f4me en conception de maquillage pour le cin\u00e9ma et la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision de la Vancouver Film School.<\/p>

Vanessa Imeson a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e par un jury compos\u00e9 de Isidra Cruz<\/strong> (Ottawa) cr\u00e9atrice de costumes, et administratrice artistique, et Anna Treusch<\/strong> cr\u00e9atrice de costumes, et laur\u00e9ate 2022 du prix Cooper.<\/p>

Le jury a \u00e9t\u00e9 unanime dans le choix de Vanessa Imeson comme laur\u00e9ate du prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper 2023 en conception de costumes. Ils ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab Les cr\u00e9ations de Vanessa sont pleines d'\u00e9nergie joyeuse. Son utilisation de grad\u00e9s et de palette est excellente. Ses cr\u00e9ations sont coh\u00e9rentes sur sc\u00e8ne, tout en r\u00e9v\u00e9lant les personnages individuels au sein de l'unit\u00e9. \u00bb

A propos le prix<\/strong>
Le Prix Virginia et Myrtle Cooper pour la cr\u00e9ation de costumes, cr\u00e9\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un don g\u00e9n\u00e9reux dans le testament de la Dr Virginia Cooper, est attribu\u00e9 \u00ab pour l\u2019amour de la cr\u00e9ation \u00bb. Dr Cooper a \u00e9t\u00e9 directrice du th\u00e9\u00e2tre Tarragon et elle \u00e9tait membre fondatrice du Arts and Letters Club de Toronto, auquel elle participait activement. Elle s\u2019int\u00e9ressait vivement aux arts de la sc\u00e8ne, en particulier \u00e0 la conception des costumes.<\/p>

La Fondation des arts de l'Ontario g\u00e8re le fonds de dotation qui finance le Prix. Le Conseil des arts de l\u2019Ontario g\u00e8re le processus de nomination et de s\u00e9lection pour le prix.<\/p>
