Toronto, le 3 mai 2023 \u2013 Le Conseil des arts de l\u2019Ontario (CAO) et la Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario (FAO) ont annonc\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui le nom des finalistes des prix Ruth et Sylvia Schwartz de litt\u00e9rature jeunesse<\/a> 2023. Les prix Schwartz sont les seuls prix litt\u00e9raires canadiens dont les livres prim\u00e9s sont choisis par des jurys compos\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ves.<\/p>

Des jurys d'\u00e9l\u00e8ves de la Jesse Ketchum Junior and Senior Public School<\/strong> \u00a0<\/span><\/b>de Toronto (Ontario), d\u00e9battront des livres en lice pour parvenir \u00e0 un consensus sur les laur\u00e9ats de 2023. Les livres prim\u00e9s seront annonc\u00e9s lors d'une assembl\u00e9e scolaire pr\u00e9vue plus tard au cours du mois.<\/span><\/p>

LES FINALISTES DE CETTE ANN\u00c9E<\/strong>
\nLes finalistes de 2023 regroupent des auteurs et illustrateurs canadiens de diff\u00e9rents horizons qui utilisent une gamme vari\u00e9e de styles litt\u00e9raires et artistiques. Le volet Livre illustr\u00e9<\/strong>propose des aventures passionnantes dans toutes sortes d\u2019endroits. Les personnages qui y figurent non seulement se familiarisent avec les liens qui nous unissent aux \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes et les uns aux autres, mais imaginent aussi ce que l'avenir pourrait r\u00e9server. Le volet Livre pour jeunes lecteurs<\/strong> comprend des livres o\u00f9 l\u2019on trouve des myst\u00e8res inqui\u00e9tants, des paysages enchant\u00e9s, la recherche d'une identit\u00e9 \u2013 r\u00e9elle ou fantastique \u2013 et l\u2019amiti\u00e9 mise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve.<\/p>

Les prix Ruth et Sylvia Schwartz de litt\u00e9rature jeunesse ont \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9s en 1976 par Sylvia Schwartz \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire de sa s\u0153ur Ruth Schwartz, libraire torontoise respect\u00e9e. En 2004, la famille a renomm\u00e9 le prix pour rendre hommage aux deux s\u0153urs.\u00a0<\/span>La FAO administre ces prix avec l'aide du CAO, qui g\u00e8re le processus de mise en candidature et de s\u00e9lection par jury.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Le comit\u00e9 de mise en candidature qui a s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 les finalistes de cette ann\u00e9e se composait de\u00a0Brooke Windsor<\/strong><\/span> (biblioth\u00e9caire des services \u00e0 la jeunesse, Biblioth\u00e8que publique de Stratford) et Alison Dunn<\/strong><\/span> (libraire et sp\u00e9cialiste de la litt\u00e9rature jeunesse, Beggar's Banquet Books, Gananoque).<\/p>
