Toronto,\u00a0le 24 octobre 2022 -\u00a0 Afarin Mansouri<\/span><\/b>\u00a0(Toronto) est la laur\u00e9ate du\u00a0Prix Kathleen McMorrow de musique<\/span><\/b>d'un montant de 10 000 dollars. Le prix reconna\u00eet la composition et la pr\u00e9sentation de musique classique contemporaine par des compositeurs ontariens. Ce prix soutient le nouvel op\u00e9ra de Mansouri \u00ab Zuleykha \u00bb<\/em>qui est chant\u00e9 en langue farsi et inclue des \u00e9l\u00e9ments de musique traditionnelle orientale dans une tradition op\u00e9ratique europ\u00e9enne. L'op\u00e9ra a \u00e9t\u00e9 command\u00e9 par Loose Tea Music Theatre et il a eu sa premi\u00e8re au festival Toronto Summer Music Festival.

A propos Afarin Mansouri<\/strong>
\"\"Dr. Afarin Mansouri<\/a> est une compositrice et musicologue prim\u00e9e dont les \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es au Canada, aux \u00c9tats-Unis, en Angleterre, en Iran et en Am\u00e9rique du Sud. Afarin a collabor\u00e9 avec divers organisations et festivals tels que Seattle Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Tapestry Opera, l'universit\u00e9 Queen's, Willard Laurier University, Tirgan Festival, Toronto Nuit Blanche et le programme YOU Dance du Ballet national du Canada.<\/p>\n

Afarin a re\u00e7u un doctorat en musique de l'universit\u00e9 York en 2019 pour sa recherche sur le sujet des op\u00e9ras pour les enfants, son histoire, et ses effets sur le d\u00e9veloppement de comp\u00e9tences intellectuelles. En tant que chercheuse et \u00e9ducatrice, Afarin a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 de nombreux articles de recherche, des conf\u00e9rences et des ateliers d'op\u00e9ra au niveau national et international. A propos le Prix Kathleen McMorrow de musique<\/strong>
\nLe Prix Kathleen McMorrow de musique<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2015. Kathleen McMorrow<\/strong> a dirig\u00e9 la biblioth\u00e8que musicale de la facult\u00e9 de musique de l'Universit\u00e9 de Toronto de 1974 \u00e0 2013. Elle a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le prix pour reconna\u00eetre et encourager la composition et la pr\u00e9sentation de la musique classique contemporaine canadienne.<\/p>

La Fondation des arts de l'Ontario g\u00e8re le fonds de dotation qui finance le prix. Le Conseil des arts de l'Ontario est responsable du processus de nomination et d'adjudication. Le laur\u00e9at du prix est s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 parmi les candidats retenus pour le programme Musique \u2013 projets de cr\u00e9ation du Conseil des arts de l\u2019Ontario.<\/p>
