Hugh D. McKellar a grandi dans le sud-ouest du comt\u00e9 de Lambton. Il a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le piano et a eu une longue carri\u00e8re dans l\u2019enseignement et de travail dans les biblioth\u00e8ques des \u00e9coles secondaires de Toronto. M. McKellar avait un vif int\u00e9r\u00eat pour la musique d'\u00e9glise et les hymnes.<\/p>

Ayant planifi\u00e9 de longue date des legs aux institutions importantes dans sa vie, M. McKellar a vu dans la Fondation des arts de l\u2019Ontario une opportunit\u00e9 d\u2019agir de son vivant, et il a organis\u00e9 une s\u00e9rie de prix pour commencer durant sa vie.\u00a0<\/p>

Comme un moyen de fournir un soutien continu aux jeunes personnes capables, M. McKellar a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le Fonds Hugh D. McKellar pour fournir deux bourses annuelles au Festival de musique du comt\u00e9 de Lambton, \u00e0 travers la \u00ab Flossie M. McKellar Scholarship<\/strong> \u00bb et la \u00ab Hugh D. McKellar Scholarship<\/strong> \u00bb, ainsi que pour fournir un soutien financier \u00e0 la to St. Michael\u2019s Cathedral Choir School<\/strong>.<\/p>

Le Fonds Hugh D. McKellar fournit des dons annuels pour la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019amoureux de la musique, et le fait d'une mani\u00e8re forte significative pour M. McKellar.<\/p>

St. Michael’s Choir School<\/a><\/strong><\/p>

One of the most important features of the rigorous musical training that the\u00a0St. Michael\u2019s Choir School<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>choristers receive is the experiential educational performance piece that comes with the Annual Spring Tour. The boys and their teachers spend every day for two weeks giving concerts and performances around the province, or the country, or the globe. Sadly, some choristers do not go \u2018on tour\u2019 and are left behind because their family finances cannot afford them this important part of their education. The support from the Hugh D. McKellar Fund has allowed some of these talented, dedicated but financially challenged boys to experience the capstone piece of their education where all the classroom learning is consolidated through the Annual Spring Tour.<\/p>

Lambton County Music Festival<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>

Le\u00a0Lambton County Music Festival<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0is an\u00a0independent music festival that\u00a0brings together talented local school bands, musicians, singers and choirs in south-west Ontario, providing music lovers with two weeks of free musical entertainment. It is the longest-running independently organized music festival in Canada whose objective is to feature the many often-overlooked yet highly skilled musicians who live in the local community in a competitive event. The Hugh D. McKellar Fund\u00a0provides two annual scholarships to the Lambton County Music Festival for\u00a0the\u00a0Flossie M. McKellar Scholarship<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0et\u00a0Hugh D.
